On to India

Hello again from India! You'll have to forgive the snail-like pace of our updates, the internet here has been equally snail-like. After the "adults" (i.e. those with children) left last Saturday, we "kids" continued on to India. It was a long day of travel with various hiccups (delayed plane where we baked on the tarmac, Nepal immigration forgetting to stamp Aly's passport upon exiting the country so we had to drive back across the border to get it, Matthew suffering from a fever amidst all these delays) but we eventually got to the Siliguri children's home in time to eat lunch... at 4pm. Over the course of the next week, we did things like:

  1. Have small group Bible study every morning with the older kids before school (the younger ones had to go early for exams).
  2. Create a mess doing crafts in the middle of a frisbee and rubber ball frenzy.
  3. Visit the graduated kids at the hostel and eat a Korean food lunch with them.
  4. Hear heart wrenching testimonies that reminded us of God's provision and love.
  5. Eat dinner with the kids and watch them laugh at us trying to learn all their names.
  6. Throw a pizza 🍕 party and a movie 🎥 night!
  7. Share mosquito nets and God's love and good news to people who live and work at the tea garden, as well as the local fellowship gathering.
  8. Pray, sing, dance, encourage, and just fellowship with each other, our family in Christ halfway around the world.
One photo to tide you over until someone who takes more photos than me has time to update. Some of the older girls, one of the widows, and me:

  1. Wow! You have done a lot to share love and encouragement with people in Siliguri. May our Lord watch over your coming back tomorrow!
